Administering the U.S. Steel safety program to ensure a safe work environment within the operating facility.
Applying engineering principles and problem solving techniques to evaluate and resolve electrical conditions to maximize operating efficiencies.
Utilizing management skills to supervise, direct, and coordinate the efforts of experienced technicians, craftsmen and project planners to repair and maintain electrical equipment to keep the operations running at maximum efficiency with minimal interruption. Use technical knowledge and maintenance history of electrical equipment to develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
Additional responsibilities include programming, coding, testing and implementation of Level I control systems involving PLC's (GE and Allen Bradley)and programming experience in ladder logic and/or control block language.
Performing administrative activities such as scheduling crews, completing production reports, conducting safety conversations, and compiling other reporting as necessary by the operating facility.
Requirements:
Associates Degree or Related Certifications/Trainings with hands on experience.
Minimum 3 years experience as a maintenance supervisor working in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
High School Diploma/GED required. A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology desired or equivalent years of demonstrated knowledge of Electrical Control Systems in a heavy industrial environment.
Good communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills are critical.
Prior experience in a union environment or similar military leadership experience is a plus.
