The Management Associate - Maintenance position is an entry-level position that prepares the recent college graduate for supervisory responsibilities at its various operating facilities. Management Associates are provided 12-18 months of training in conjunction with work assignments to assist in this development.
Responsibilities may include:
1. Administration of the U. S. Steel safety program to ensure a safe work environment within the Operating facility.
2. Making design modifications to existing equipment to reduce maintenance, improve reliability and product quality.
3. Performing equipment failure analysis and making appropriate recommendations.
4. Reviewing proposed equipment replacement or upgrades, including capital projects with multi-million dollar budgets.
5. Working with consultants and equipment vendors to ensure process requirements and applicable standards and codes are met.
6. Engage in maintenance planning functions to minimize downtime.
7. Investigate process improvements and participate in facility upgrades.
Requirements:
Must have a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Must have at least 2.75 GPA, will accept 2.5 with experience
Graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university at the time of hire
Must have less than three years of professional work experience
An enthusiastic approach and ability to learn quickly and assume responsibility, are essential.
Excellent computer and communication skills are a must as well as an interest in hands on assignments in a manufacturing environment. The candidate must also have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule, weekends, and holidays
Strong organization, teamwork, planning and problem solving skills
Prior internship a plus
